1. The Dark Side

In the settings app you can opt to join the dark side by having a black background vs the usual white. Tap the Display & Brightness option in settings to choose this feature. You can also set up custom schedules if you want the iPad to be dark during certain times.

True Tone is another feature which will automatically adjust the brightness of your screen depending on the current ambient lighting.

2. Scribble

For those that use an Apple Pencil, you want to make sure you use the Scribble feature. This feature allows you to do a lot more without having to put your pencil down.

Scribble will let you write in text fields and it will convert your writing. This makes it so much easier to jot notes down really fast or personalize things with your touch. For a lost Apple Pencil make sure that you learn the top ways to find it before you go out and spend money on a new one.

3. Split Screen

This feature comes in handy when you are multitasking. For example, if you are working on a drawing you can split your screen and keep your image reference on one side of the screen while you draw the image on another app.

To use this feature, all you have to do is open an app and tap the small horizontal dot trio at the top of your screen and choose the layout you prefer.

4. Built-In Scanner

For those that are constantly working with PDFs, you can use the Notes app like a built-in scanner instead of using third party scanner apps. To do this you will open a new document in your Notes app and then press the plus sign at the bottom.

Next, press the Scan Documents option and you can either save it as a PDF or use the markup tool to sign the document if need be.

5. Split Keyboard

Nowadays, you don’t only have the option to split your screen you can also opt to split your keyboard if you choose. This is great for those that are tired of holding their iPad like a clipboard and pecking at the iPad with one finger.

Keep in mind that this feature doesn’t work on the 11″ or 12″ iPad Pro.
